Computrol Acquires Western Electronics LLC

Computrol, Inc. today announced that it has acquired Western Electronics LLC. Computrol will merge the Western Electronics’ Meridian facility with its existing local facility, and operate the Denver, CO facility under the Computrol name.
As a result of the acquisition, Computrol increases its cable and wire harness capabilities. Western Electronics has been building custom cables and wire-harnesses for more than 30 years, providing delivery on demand for low, medium, and high volume customer requirements. Computrol will build on this expertise to offer a wide variety of custom solutions including molded cable assemblies, RF, Coaxial, wire-harnesses, and mold making and machining. The addition of the Denver facility also brings advanced automated through hole capabilities.
Western Electronics has won six Service Excellence Awards from Circuits Assembly Magazine and is BSI Registered to ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 13485:2003. Its Meridian plant is an authorized UL cabling/wire harness facility. “We feel that Western Electronics’ people and culture are a great fit for Computrol, and this acquisition is a major step in our strategy to increase revenues and capture a larger share of the electronics contract manufacturing market,” stated Jon Hanson, Sales & Marketing Manager.
Computrol now serves its customers from three world-class facilities in Orem, UT, Denver, CO and its headquarters in Meridian. Founded in 1984, Computrol has a long history of providing electronics contract manufacturing services and support to blue-chip customers ranging from military and medical electronics, to telecommunications and computer peripherals. Computrol continues to build on its core services and capabilities by investing in versatile, high-speed manufacturing equipment and technology, as well as continuing training programs for employees.
