It’s Only Common Sense: Seeking the Possibility of Opportunity
03/11/2024 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseWe are often so immersed in what we are doing that we don’t have time to lift our heads and open our eyes to the possibility of opportunity. Why is this a problem? It’s because being open to opportunities is crucial for success in sales (as it is in all of business and in). Over the years, I have found there are several ways to take advantage of opportunities. The absolute best way is to always have an open mind. Here are some ways I do that.

Nolan’s Notes: The Time is Now
03/05/2024 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesTime marches on—or does it? Researchers in a subfield of wave physics found evidence that it is possible to reverse time. Sort of. Here’s how they do it: Since light can be both a wave and a particle, and just as a regular mirror reflects light, thus changing its location in space, researchers have been able to create a “metamaterial” that reflects photons back on their exact path through time, rather than space. Science can make light seem to go backward, but not forward. This may seem a little esoteric, but it’s still fascinating. While we might all like to go back in time and re-do the past, for most of us, we continue looking forward—just as we’re doing with the March 2024 issue of SMT007 Magazine.

The Chemical Connection: An Exhibitor’s View of IPC APEX EXPO
02/28/2024 | Don Ball -- Column: The Chemical ConnectionWhen I learned that this issue would be dedicated to optimizing the bare board fabricator’s experience at the IPC APEX EXPO 2024, I thought it would be an easy column to write. With more than 40 of these shows under my belt, I didn’t think it would be too difficult to come up with a list of dos and don’ts to make your visit to an exhibitor’s booth worthwhile. So, what can you do to make your visit even more useful?
