Kontron Groups European Sites in EMS/ODM Network
October 28, 2020 | KontronEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing technology, groups its six production sites in Europe into an EMS/ODM network. In addition to regional proximity, the company group offers its customers a very comprehensive portfolio of development and manufacturing services. This includes everything that a customer expects from a modern manufacturing service provider. Jochen Gimple, Managing Director of Kontron Electronics GmbH and Vice President EMS/ODM at Kontron, will take over the management of the newly established network.
In addition to the existing companies, Kontron Electronics in Germany and Kapoly and Pécs in Hungary, the Kontron Austria locations in Ebbs and Engerwitzdorf are also part of the group. The company Iskratel, located in Kranj, Slovenia, was just recently integrated.
"Trust and partnership are the basis of our business relationships and as an experienced electronics service provider, we do more than just providing production and assembly services for complete product lines. We cover the entire life cycle of electronic assemblies and devices. In our modern production facilities we offer our customers a comprehensive portfolio of services - from product development and related consulting and product design to purchasing and production - all from a single source.", Jochen Gimple explains.
Due to the corona virus and the discussion on environmental protection, the topic of supply chain has become even more important. For many customers today, the issue of "short delivery routes" is an essential point when selecting suppliers. This will further strengthen Europe as a production location. A further decisive advantage of Kontron compared to other companies is, that more than ever, the claim of being a "one-stop-shop" is now being realized. In addition to Kontron’s own standard products such as boards, COM and SoM modules, industrial Box-PCs, rackmount servers, HMI and display systems, as well as automation and software solutions up to the cloud, the portfolio also includes EMS/ODM services. Customers do not have to accept any compromises, as they can choose from a wide range of products, solutions and services according to their requirements and wishes. Especially in today's world, another strong argument is that behind the s&t Group's offering stands a financially stable European business group with broad technological expertise and a sales volume of over 1 billion EUR.
