Mycronic Receives SLX Mask Writer Order from an Existing Customer in Asia
March 15, 2023 | Mycronic ABEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
Mycronic AB has received an order for an SLX mask writer from an existing customer in Asia. The order value is in the range of USD 5-7 million. Delivery of the system is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023.
The SLX laser mask writer meets rising demand for photomasks for the semiconductor industry and a future need for replacement and modernization. Photomasks manufactured by laser mask writers are of high importance and account for a majority of all photomasks produced for semiconductor manufacturing. SLX is a modern and energy efficient mask writer based on the same technology as Mycronic’s mask writers for displays.
“The customer already has the SLX in production and this order for an additional mask writer confirms that the SLX meets the customer’s high expectations on performance and productivity”, says Charlott Samuelsson, Sr. VP Pattern Generators at Mycronic.
Mycronic’s Pattern Generators division provides mask writers for display manufacturing and production of semiconductors.

Connect the Dots: Designing for Reality: Prioritizing Manufacturability
04/11/2024 | Matt Stevenson -- Column: Connect the DotsRealistic PCB designs should prioritize manufacturability and reliability of the PCB as well as meet the other design requirements. To do so, one must account for the production variables associated with individual manufacturing partners. Understanding and creating robust PCB designs, especially in terms of board manufacturing, requires a lot of attention to detail. When more detail is included in the design, the manufacturing process goes more smoothly, and process yields are higher.
