PVA Teams Up with Mission Ukraine and Ukraine Focus to Donate Life-Saving Supplies to Ukrainian War Effort
May 11, 2023 | PVAEstimated reading time: 1 minute
PVA, a global supplier of automated dispensing and coating equipment, has announced a new initiative to assist in the Ukrainian war effort. The company has teamed up with Mission Ukraine and Ukraine Focus to donate equipment and ship life-saving supplies to the front lines to assist soldiers and civilians alike.
PVA is donating an Emergence PRO™ 3D Printer to Mission Ukraine’s main office in Latvia. The printer will aid in creating prosthetics for those that need them the most and help patients return home, or back to the battlefield, with new confidence. Additionally, PVA is working closely with Ukraine Focus to ship donations from various organizations including bulletproof vests, helmets, medical supplies, computers, and items for children. PVA will also donate 44 of its PREVENT™ ventilators to help those in need.
"Through this partnership with Mission Ukraine and Ukraine Focus, PVA is proud to be able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine," said Frank Hart, Managing Director at PVA. "We hope that our contributions will help to alleviate some of the hardships faced by soldiers and civilians alike."
PREVENT™ is an emergency ventilator originally designed to treat patients suffering from COVID-19 respiratory failure. This motorized device automatically compresses a bag-valve mask to provide air to the lungs of a patient, eliminating the human error and fatigue that results from manual resuscitation. While the ventilator was designed for COVID-19 patients, it has been repurposed to assist in emergency situations such as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

It’s Only Common Sense: Seeking the Possibility of Opportunity
03/11/2024 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseWe are often so immersed in what we are doing that we don’t have time to lift our heads and open our eyes to the possibility of opportunity. Why is this a problem? It’s because being open to opportunities is crucial for success in sales (as it is in all of business and in). Over the years, I have found there are several ways to take advantage of opportunities. The absolute best way is to always have an open mind. Here are some ways I do that.

We have bought new equipment, updated our processes, and increased our quality, technology, and performance to make sure we are providing our customers with everything they need to be successful. The Economics of Equipment Selection
01/08/2024 | Barry Matties, I-Connect007Financing capital equipment is certainly a large part of a fabricator’s economic equation. However, the selection of your equipment has a long-term economic impact, especially if you overlook a few critical points. As IPS President and CEO Mike Brask recently explained, the first step in this process is to really understand your technological needs and the flexibility that’s required for your equipment to carry you into the future.
DARPA Moves Forward on X-65 Technology Demonstrator
01/04/2024 | DARPADARPA has selected Aurora Flight Sciences to build a full-scale X-plane to demonstrate the viability of using active flow control (AFC) actuators for primary flight control. The X-65 breaks this century-old design paradigm for flight control by using jets of air from a pressurized source to shape the flow of air over the aircraft surface, with AFC effectors on several surfaces to control the plane’s roll, pitch, and yaw. Eliminating external moving parts is expected to reduce weight and complexity and to improve performance.
