Electrolube to Exhibit at Strategies In Light
February 23, 2016 | ElectrolubeEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Electrolube will be exhibiting at the upcoming Strategies in Light event, an exhibition and conference to be staged at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California from March 1–3, 2016. This is the first time that Electrolube will be exhibiting at Strategies in Light (also co-located with The LED Show), which will provide a global showcase for the company's growing range of specialist products targeted at this dynamic industry sector.
There has been an explosion in LED lighting applications in recent years, and developments have seen the broader uptake of LED luminaires and lighting solutions in industrial plants, commercial buildings, public spaces and increasingly in the domestic setting. While this growth has fuelled innovations in lighting design and has seen applications escalating, LED-based systems and their associated driver electronics must be protected from a host of environmental factors, and this is where Electrolube's expertise and long experience of the LED sector comes into a league of its own.
Electrolube will be bringing a wealth of knowledge of LED lighting, environmental and thermal protection systems to this event, supported by a newly published, LED-focused brochure documenting the results of some of the company's key research projects and providing examples of its products' applications in real-world situations. In addition to a broad range of coatings, thermal products and encapsulation resins, the stand will display a selection of coated PCBs to demonstrate the effectiveness of Electrolube's protective coatings against a variety of adverse environmental conditions.
Key products to be demonstrated and promoted at the show include Electrolube's Aromatic Free Acrylic (AFA) conformal coating, which offers excellent clarity and superior protection in humid environments; the 2K500 two-part UV-resistant polyurethane coating system, which provides the protection properties of an encapsulation resin with the ease of application of a conformal coating; the well proven HTCX non-silicone, and HTS and HTSP silicone heat transfer compounds, and the extremely popular UR5635 polyurethane resin that has a hazy/cloudy white translucent appearance - ideal for dispersing light in LED applications – and which provides high resistance to weather/UV, acids and alkalis, water and mould growth.
Also shown will be the newly launched SCTP and TCORP thermal management products. TCORP is a superior version of the company's TCOR single component, low-odour, room temperature vulcanization silicone, which cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture. The thermal conductivity of the new formulation has been increased from 1.8W/m.K (TCOR) to 2.20W/m.K (TCORP), and is particularly effective at preventing overheating and premature component failures.
SCTP is a highly effective and efficient gap-filling thermal interface paste that does not set, remaining malleable when rework of components is required. It is especially suited to applications that are exposed to rapid and frequent changes in temperature – conditions that can exaggerate the "pump-out" effect of standard thermal pastes. It is highly thermally stable and can be used in applications subject to temperatures as high as 200°C.
The LED industry is a key market for Electrolube's products. The company has invested a considerable amount of time, money and resources creating specific formulations to address the common problems affecting LED product design - specifically overheating issues - in order to lengthen lifetime and improve reliability.
Exhibiting at the Strategies in Light event comes at a particularly important juncture in Electrolube's USA operations as the company commits extra resources and expertise in the form of new distributors, such as the recent appointment of the US Midwest based company, Murray Percival, and as it strengthens the highly successful commercial relationship with Bruce Ward, who covers the United States East Coast for the company.
