Electrolube to Debut New Coating, Thermal and Resin Products at electronica 2016
October 5, 2016 | ElectrolubeEstimated reading time: 4 minutes
Electro-chemicals specialist, Electrolube will showcase a new era of innovative new thermal management, conformal coatings, maintenance and service aids, and encapsulation resin products at this year’s electronica show, November 8-11, Munich, Germany. As well as launching a host of timely new products, Electrolube will also provide a taste of its wider, industry-leading product portfolio and world-class services for the electronics, automotive, LED and electrical manufacturing industries.
At this year’s electronica event, Electrolube will have an especially strong presence with two separate stands across the exhibition complex, highlighting the company’s thermal management products in Hall B1 Stand 259 and showcasing new conformal coatings and encapsulation resins in Hall A6, stand 214.
New Products will include the following:
ENCAPSULATION RESINS:
ER2223 - Electrolube’s newest epoxy resin, developed specifically for the automotive industry, is a black high temperature stable epoxy with an exceptionally wide operating temperature range of -40 to 180oC. The product is designed to meet the needs of under-bonnet requirements and is highly chemically resistant to vehicle fluids found in engine compartments.
ER2224 - Also suited to automotive applications, ER2224 is a thermally conductive epoxy resin system, which offers an improved method of cure and subsequent health and safety benefits for the user. ER2224 provides high thermal conductivity and good thermal cycling performance. The resin is also ideal for use in LED lighting units where it helps to promote heat dissipation and prolong unit service life.
ER4002 - A newly developed flame retardant epoxy resin with good thermal conductivity and a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +150oC. This resin features low mixing viscosity and good flow characteristics, while its outstanding dielectric strength makes it ideal for automotive encapsulation applications.
UR5638 - A tough, low exotherm polyurethane resin, UR5638 provides a clear, transparent finish. Due to its low exotherm, UR5638 is particularly suitable for applications involving the encapsulation of larger LED lighting units. As an aliphatic polymer, the resin also offers superior UV stability as well as excellent transmission of visible light, making it an ideal resin for white light LEDs.
UR5639 - Designed for encapsulating a variety of electrical components, but particularly LEDs, UR5639 is a low exotherm, low viscosity, low hardness, flexible, clear/transparent polyurethane resin. The level of flexibility achieved by the cured resin means that the connecting legs of components are not placed under high levels of stress during the cure.
CONFORMAL COATINGS
URC05L - URC is a high performance, flexible, low-odour urethane conformal coating offering superb adhesion to a wide variety of substrates under challenging climatic conditions. URC is an IPC-CC-830 and MIL (MIL-1-46058C) approved chemically resistant coating with a high level of flexibility, even at low temperatures, and offers a wide operating temperature range of -40 - +130°C. Available in a 5 Litre container, URC05L offers excellent thermal performance, a fast touch dry time, outstanding abrasion resistance, high mechanical strength and contains a UV trace to aid inspection.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS
TPM350 - Silicone-free and RoHS compliant, TPM350 is a thermally conductive phase change material offering low thermal resistance and excellent reliability. It is particularly easy to apply - similar to grease but without the mess and pump-out - and it can be screen or stencil printed for high volume production applications. It is also dry to the touch, which is particularly useful for pre-apply applications.
TPM550 – Also a silicone-free, thermally conductive phase change material, TPM550 features high thermal conductivity of 5.5 W/m.K and becomes workable at approximately 45°C. The material’s advanced formulation ensures minimal contact thermal resistance. Like TPM350, TPM550 also produces no mess due to its thixotropic characteristics which prevent flow outside of defined interfaces. TPM550 can be reworked and its lower specific gravity means that more applications can be served per kilogram of the material, further reducing production costs.
ERCS310ML – This product has recently achieved great beta-test results in automotive applications. ERCS310ML is a brand new high viscosity, non-slump, paste-like sealant with highly effective electrical insulation characteristics. This rapid curing product is a single component, solvent-free, low odour, room temperature vulcanisation (RTV) sealant which cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture. Based on modified polymer technology, ERCS310ML offers good elasticity, making it ideal for a wide variety of bonding and sealing applications, and it remains flexible and elastic over a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +130°C.
