Scienscope International will exhibit its flexible X-ray component reel counter at productronica China, scheduled to take place March 16-18, 2018 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The AXI-5100c inline component counter and AXC-800 X-ray component reel counter, as well as the micro-focus X-ray inspection systems, will be showcased at Stand E2.2400.

The release of the AXI-5100c, in addition to the AXC-800, allows Scienscope to offer the most comprehensive component counting system solutions in the industry.

The AXI 5100c is the ultimate in flexibility. It is a fully automated flexible, inline, fast and accurate component counting machine designed to increase productivity. With automated barcode reading and reel size and height detection, the optional loaders and unloaders means you can simply drop off a batch of reels and go about your business being productive in other areas.  With this machine you can start out with a stand-alone batch, and grow into more automation in the future.

Scienscope also offers a table top component counting system – the AXC-800 an Automatic X-ray Inspection Component Counter designed for the inspection of components on traditional reels, from 01005 to odd form devices. However, this machine goes beyond standard inspection of components in 7” 13” and 15” reels, with the ability to inspect components in JEDEC trays (including BGA ball counting), ESD storage bags, storage tubes, or just about any form by using simplified algorithms built into the system for all types of components.

About Scienscope International

Scienscope was founded in 1994 to meet the growing need for reliable and affordable general-purpose optical and video inspection solutions for the electronics and PCB industries. The company began with basic stereo zoom microscopes used for SMT inspection and rework of circuit boards and electromechanical assemblies with a commitment to quality, value and support. Over the past 20 years, Scienscope has evolved to become a complete inspection solution provider, offering both offline and inline X-Ray systems, Video coordinate measurement systems, Video inspection systems, and microscopes to meet a wide variety of applications and manufacturing quality requirements. Taking an Independent Path: Strategies for Low Risk Sourcing of Components in a Constrained Market

10/24/2018 | Jeff Elliott
Today, the challenges of a highly stressed supply chain are forcing many OEMs and EMS providers to rethink the way they source components. With parts such as multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and other low-cost components in chronic shortage with extended lead times for delivery, manufacturers must be able to get these parts on-time at the lowest possible cost without assuming additional risk.

What SMT Component Shortages Mean for Design and Manufacturing Engineers

09/13/2018 | Russell Poppe, JJS Manufacturing
Much has been written about the increasing shortages of electronic components such as MLCCs, chip resistors and other semiconductor devices. And the manufacturing industry is now seeing price increases and greatly extended lead times. It seems the situation is likely to get rapidly worse rather than better. What can we do? Read on.
