Dover Corporation has presented the 2017 Dover Safety Excellence Award to the OK International facility in Cypress, California. The award was based on both quantitative and qualitative measures for outstanding safety performance and exemplary employee participation in safety programs. OK International, a Dover Company, received the Gold Award for the small site category (under 150 employees). Overall, 29 locations world-wide were nominated with 7 locations ultimately receiving an award. Andy Fincher, President, Dover Engineered Systems, presented the award today at the Cypress facility during an all employee event.

"Dover is pleased to provide this award in recognition of the outstanding safety record of OK International," said Andy Fincher, President, Dover Engineered Systems. "This award is something for all employees to be proud of and represents what can be accomplished when a commitment to excellence and a focus on safety becomes part of the culture of the organization."

Also present at today’s celebration were Russell Toney, SVP Global Supply Chain for Dover and Scott Greenhouse, VP Safety and Employee Relations. Both provided congratulatory remarks during the employee celebration.

"The Dover Safety Excellence Award exemplifies our culture of safety and supports our vision of 'Zero Accidents by Choice'," says Greenhouse. "We are honored to recognize OK International for their outstanding safety record which includes over two years without a recordable injury."

Toney adds, "The Cypress facility has been identified for its facility-wide efforts including employee involvement and safety training, ergonomic and workstation assessment, and other site-wide safety activities. These activities and safety focused programs have helped contribute to their outstanding safety record."

The award was accepted by Bryan Gass, Interim President of OK International, who states, "This award provides tangible evidence that we are making the right types of decisions and implementing an awareness of safety throughout the organization.
