Lite-On Technology Reports 11% YoY Revenue Growth in May

LITE-ON Technology has reported May consolidated revenues of NT$18.49 billion ($618.74 million), up 12% month-on-month and 11% year-on-year, hitting a record high in 2018. Thanks to stable end-demand from core businesses, cumulative sales for January through May totaled NT$83.59 billion.
The Optoelectronics business segment contributed a 30% share of total sales. Driven by the growing demand from invisible LED, the ongoing market share gains in LED components, smooth delivery of LED vehicle lighting, street lighting’s increased shipment to Middle Eastern market, coupled with delivery growth in high-end camera modules, the optoelectronics business posted a growth of approximately 30% YoY.
The IT business accounted for 52% of sales, of which, ongoing delivery growth of high-end server and networking power management systems for cloud computing as well as power supplies for AI smart home devices, supported power systems to achieve more than 10% yearly growth. Moreover, the HIS (Human Input Solutions – PC Keyboards and Peripherals) business showed a revenue growth of approximately 30% YoY, driven by its ongoing market share gains.
The Storage segment accounted for 13% of total revenue. The strong demand from cloud computing applications fueled the segment’s yearly growth to about 20% YoY.
