KYZEN’s Erik Miller Wins Distinguished Speaker Award at SMTA Guadalajara

KYZEN’s Erik Miller, vice president and general manager – Asia, received a Distinguished Speaker Award during the recent SMTA Guadalajara Expo. 

Miller was awarded for the presentation “Reliability of Electronic Assemblies, Particularly Under Low Stand-Off Components,” co-authored by Mike Bixenman of KYZEN, and Mark McMeen of STI Electronics.

Miller is a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University holding a degree in Chemistry and has been associated with the electronics/semiconductor industries for more than 20 years. Since joining Kyzen in 1999, Miller has been involved in the design, implementation and technical support of advanced cleaning processes, and most importantly developing and leading a strong team of partners and staff to support KYZEN’s rapidly growing customer base in Asia.

With the trend of shortening lead-times within the material ordering process, and the frequency with which urgent orders for materials from the grey market are made, there is increased opportunity for the ingress of counterfeit materials. The situation is made far worse when a genuine shortage of materials in the supply chain occurs. The consequences of not being able to eliminate the risk of defects getting through into the market will be disastrous for individuals as well as for the company brand image, not to mention the associated costs of recovery. It is only a matter of time, unless something very significant changes.
