May 2022 Issue of SMT007 Magazine Available Now

Reading time ( words)

For our May issue of SMT007 Magazine, we wanted to learn more about the challenges for high-mix, low-volume EMS firms building high density boards, and how they’re coping with those challenges. What we learned was that the high-density challenges, per se, were actually few and far between. What has been causing new headaches, however, is component packaging because of the unpredictability in the supply chain.

We look at new capabilities available to on-floor best practices, and how new best practices are likely to influence equipment design.

Design to Production Flow: DFT and Test Coverage Using Industry 4.0 Principles to Produce Good Products

12/01/2021 | William Webb, ASTER Technologies
Achieving design for test (DFT) can be challenging for both design and test groups, as sometimes both expect that the other will be the one to manage DFT. The design and test groups might be in the same organization, or they could be an OEM vs. an EMS company. It works best if both the design and test groups are engaged in the process of DFT and trying to achieve the goal of the best test coverage and lowest rate of field returns.

Part 7 of Siemens’ Digital Twin Webinar Series: Optimizing Inspection and Test Engineering

10/21/2020 | I-Connect007 Editorial Team
Have you ever wondered what digital twin is, how it's used, and its benefits? Are you interested in learning ways to optimize and streamline how data flows from design, production planning, process engineering, and manufacturing? Then this micro webinar series is for you! Throughout this 12-part series, Jay Gorajia from Siemens Industries Software describes how to leverage the digital twin concept—from design to production planning and process engineering—through manufacturing execution and supply chain. The goal of the series is to define a blueprint for organizations seeking to digitalize and optimize their design to manufacturing processes and manufacturing operations.
