AIM to Highlight V9 at SMTA Juarez and Tijuana Expos

Reading time ( words)

AIM Solder, a leading global manufacturer of solder assembly materials for the electronics industry, is pleased to announce their participation in the upcoming SMTA Juarez and SMTA Tijuana Chapter Expos, taking place on May 19th and May 26th, respectively. AIM will highlight V9, their new ultra-low-voiding, no clean paste, along with their full line of solder assembly materials.

Formulated to solve one of the industry’s most difficult challenges, V9 has proven to reduce voiding to as low as 1% on BGA and <5% on BTC components while exhibiting stable print performance on fine feature devices over 12 hours. V9 post-process residue is easily probed and possesses high SIR values required for high reliability applications.

To discover all of AIM’s products and services, visit the company at the SMTA Juarez Expo on May 19th, and SMTA Tijuana Expo on May 26th, for more information and to speak with one of AIM’s knowledgeable staff members.

Mining for Metals Requires a Long View

06/15/2022 | Nolan Johnson, I-Connect007
Nolan Johnson talks with Shaun Dykes, a 50-year expert in the mining industry. Dykes gives a concise primer on mining development, and the amount of time and effort required to develop and supply the mineral resources we depend upon for the manufacture of printed circuit boards. There are many factors that play into when and where a mine is developed—and what can prevent a mine from ever producing minerals.

Book Excerpt: 'The Printed Circuit Assembler’s Guide to… Solder Defects'

06/07/2022 | I-Connect007 Editorial Team
Solder defects in surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly have been an issue for decades. Further, the combined challenges of Pb-free soldering and ever-increasing miniaturization have resulted in new or exacerbated defects in electronics assembly, but there are proven ways to avoid defects. This book will be especially beneficial to PCB assemblers in improving their assembly processes and the reliability of the end-product, eliminating field failures, and reducing costs.

VJ Electronix: Automating the X-ray Inspection Process
