Sunburst EMS announces the strategic acquisition of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Salem, Mass. - based New England Wire Assemblies ('NEWire') on Friday, February 1, 2008. New England Wire Assemblies was founded in 1983 and specializes in the production of custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
In making the announcement, Andrew Chase, President and CEO of Sunburst, said, "The acquisition of New England Wire Assemblies broadens our service portfolio with extensive cable assembly expertise and tooling. It enhances our product integration capabilities and allows both Sunburst and NEWire to leverage our complementary customer bases. Most importantly, the acquisition supports our strategy of enhancing our customers' business performance by offering "complete order fulfillment".
New England Wire Assemblies has traditionally provided a wide range of products including epoxy custom molded assemblies, discrete wire and multi-conductor cables, connectors for high vacuum applications and other electromechanical assemblies, and more. Adding this capability as well as NEWire's more than 20 years of recognized expertise and customer base extends not only the range and quality of services provided by Sunburst to its customers, Chase adds, but also broadens Sunburst's diverse customer base in terms of geography and industries.
