Winland Electronics, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of custom electronic control products and systems, today announced it has completed a restructuring of its manufacturing and operations departments. The restructuring is intended to support more aggressive <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />EMS growth objectives and also better align the company to its 2008 and 2009 initiatives in program management, supply chain management, quality management, and information systems. This restructuring follows the February 14, 2008 announcement relating to the addition of Warren Mitchell as Executive Supply Chain Leader.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The company has appointed Jeffrey Ocker to the newly created position of Director of Operations, and Steve Trnka to Director of Manufacturing. Mr. Ocker joined Winland in 2006, and was Manager of Manufacturing Test Engineering prior to this appointment. Prior to Winland, he was at Plexus Corporation, a Tier II EMS company, where he was responsible for design, testability and manufacturability of products for the medical, networking, computing, and industrial markets. Mr. Trnka has spent more than eight years at Winland as a Program Manager and Strategic Account Manager.
Tom de Petra, Winland's Interim Chief Executive Officer, commented, "These changes were designed to favorably impact virtually every part of our organization and every quality and performance measure that matters to our customers and our financial success." He added, "Jeff and Steve both have strong skills and significant experience in the electronic manufacturing services industry. They also have strong drive and clear vision on the direction Winland is going."
