Connectronics Romania Expands, Opens New Plant
May 29, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Connectronics Romania, a part of the Belgian Connect Systems Group, has opened a new production plant in Oradea. The new plant can accommodate more than 1,000 employees. The plant was constructed together with, and on land owned by, Centrum Romania, a division of the Belgian H. Essers group.
This investment in Oradea is the next important step in the expansion of Connectronics Romania. The Connect Systems Group began operations in Romania in December 2002 with only 7 employees on rented premises of less than 1,000m. The company had a very successful start that year and one year later, in January 2004, moved to a larger plant in Bors. In January 2005, the company doubled in size and moved into a second building, which totalled 6,000m. Today, the group employs more than 750 employees. This steady growth over the years has required yet another move, for the third time in five years, to larger premises.
The Romania factory has become the largest production facility within the Connect Systems Group. Production in Romania evolved from a pure labor subcontracting activity in 2002 into a full-fledged electronic subcontracting plant--including the latest technological production machinery for PCB and cable harness manufacturing. The plant now produces complete products, PCBs and cable harnesses for the high-end professional, automotive and telecom markets.
