Federal Electronics Receives ITAR Registration
December 4, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Federal Electronics, Inc. has received official International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) registration from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, certifying the company's dedication to adhering to regulations controlling the export and import of defense-related articles and services.
Federal Electronics, Inc. is a leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) partner to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) outsourcing military and government contract manufacturing projects. The company is based in Cranston, Rhode Island.
ITAR regulations are designed to control the information and materials of military related technologies and ensure that military technologies are only shared with U.S. persons, unless approval from the Department of State is received via a special exemption. The registration officially certifies Federal Electronics to work in conjunction with the U.S. military and expresses the company's obligation to handle ITAR protected products according to all regulations.
"Military, defense, and homeland security markets are a particular area of focus for Federal Electronics," said Federal Electronics Vice President Edward Evangelista. "As a small business servicing these industry segments, we recognize the importance of protecting and safeguarding our customers' technical data and have established the requisite controls and processes to maintain the proper level of security."
The ITAR registration follows the recent news of Federal Electronics' selection as a recipient of the 2008 Supplier Excellence 4 Star Award from Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). A supplier to Raytheon IDS for the past seven years, Federal Electronics was honored with the award for its exemplary performance and contribution to the success of Raytheon IDS and its customers.
