RENTON, WA and BROMONT, Canada Data acquisition and control provider Microscan has partnered with Cogiscan Inc., a track, trace, and control solutions provider, for a long-term, high-level agreement including joint product development and cross-selling.
Microscan's technology portfolio of barcode and machine vision, combined with Cogiscan's patented RFID technology and complete software platform, provides comprehensive solutions for track, trace, and control, said Jeff Timms, president, Microscan. He added that Cogiscan's modular approach provides short ROI and integration with legacy systems. Cogiscan signed an OEM reseller agreement with manufacturing execution system (MES) software provider Kratzer last year.
Microscan will offer a range of Cogiscan's existing products through Microscan's existing channels and vice-versa, noted Franéois Monette, co-president of Cogiscan. Microscan acquired the machine vision technologies of Siemens in 2008.
