New Products in Dispensing, Printing, and Dispensable Materials
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: 8 minutes
Following are the new solder-dispensing print heads, jet dispensers, dispense valves, curing technologies, materials mixers, and various materials such as conductive inks and epoxy adhesive/sealants.
Upgraded Print HeadProFlow enclosed print head system capabilities and process window were updated in the ProFlow Evolution. Benefits include efficient materials transfer, high throughput rates, higher process yields, lower material consumption, and improved process control. Because the material is contained in a sealed environment, as opposed to being exposed to air as in traditional squeegee applications, enclosed head printing provides environmental and cost-saving benefits of lower material waste. The Evolution can be used for traditional solder paste printing, flux deposition, adhesives and encapsulant printing, solder spheres, thermal interface materials, biomedical formulations, and more. ProFlow Tx suits alternative process applications including the deposition of enzymes, ink, under-fill and glue, while ProFlow ATx is designed for advanced paste materials. The Evolution products also can mix and condition materials and deliver uniform performance control. By independently creating a body of conditioned material at the stencil interface, the performance of processes such as pin-in-paste are reportedly improved. Other alterations include the use of industry-standard materials syringe packaging, a modified chamber design to simplify cleaning, and direct material loading capability. DEK, www.dek.com.
Essemtec's CDS6200 with jet dispense.
System with Two Jet DispensersThe jet-dispensing technology on the CDS6200 allows proportioning of various media at a large number of points. Because the materials to be dispensed have various specific characteristics, which partially depend on environmental conditions, selecting valves that are suitable for particular materials are necessary. The machine concept consists of a CDS6200 with two various Jet valves fixed at its head. Additionally, this system contains a custom vacuum table, which can be adjusted manually +10 mm and can be triggered independently via software. The vacuum table fixes the carrier for the component; it is removable from the table by hand and can be added when needed. Particularly at the placement of LEDs as well as at further applications where similar components in large scale must be placed at the carrier for the components, the double-dispenser provides a significant times savings. Using the two Jet valves media, two different adhesives can be deposited simultaneously, reducing processing time per component. A third Jet dispenser, which can be installed at the same head, can further cut processing time. The proportioning systems of the CDS-series are flexible platforms, which can be adjusted modularly for numerous applications. They have a standard selection of valves and functions.
