February 10, 2009 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
BANNOCKBURN, IL IPC Midwest, September 2324, 2009, in Schaumburg, IL, is recruiting paper presentations and classes in various aspects of PCB design and electronics assembly. Abstracts are due by April 14 to IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries.
This IPC conference is focused on helping the electronics manufacturing supply chain identify quality and reliability challenges and solutions. Technical experts are invited to present a paper or teach a professional development course. Conference speakers receive conference admission at no charge.
Subjects for presentations include board fabrication, such as plating technology, advances in flex and rigid-flex, and vias; assembly technology, such as rework, lead-free, backwards compatibility, quality and test, and inspection; and eco-compliance, such as REACH, halogen-free, and lead-free. Abstracts for unpublished work should be submitted detailing case histories, field data, new technologies or innovations, or research and findings. Abstracts should summarize the problems and resolutions, methods used, results of experiments, and benefits to the industry.
Presentations at the conference should be 30 minutes long. They may be grouped together in a forum or panel discussion. Presentations must be non-commercial in nature, focusing on technology rather than a company's product. Previously published papers and papers focused on the company or company's products are not appropriate and will not be accepted.
Speakers must provide an electronic copy of their technical paper and/or presentation slides. All conference speakers at IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition 2009 will receive free conference and exhibit hall admission, and a copy of the conference proceedings on CD.
