SMTA Adds Technical Committee Members

MINNEAPOLIS The SMTA announced nine new members to the distinguished technical committee, which assembles the SMTA International (SMTAI) conference. Planning is underway for the SMTAI 2009 event, October 48, 2009 in San Diego, CA.
The new members are Raiyomand F. Aspandiar, Intel Corporation; Steve Bezuk, Ph.D., Qualcomm; Lars Boettcher, Fraunhofer IZM Berlin; Denis Jean, Plexus Corp.; Matthew Kelly P. Eng., MBA, IBM Corporation; Charles G. Woychik, Ph.D., GE Global Research; Heather McCormick, Celestica Inc.; Charles Mitchell , Harris Corporation; and Bob Willis, ASKbobwillis.com.
Led by Rob Rowland of RadiSys Corporation, the new members will be joining existing technical committee members Gerald Adams, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics; Gail Flower, Pennwell Publishing/SMT Magazine; Ajit Triverdi, IBM Corporation (Retired); Dan Baldwin, Ph.D., Engent Inc.; Donald Banks, Banks Consulting; Bill Barthel, Plexus; John Evans, Ph.D., Auburn University; Mike Buetow, UPMedia Group/Circuits Assembly Magazine; Srinivas Chada, Ph.D., Medtronic; Rich Freiberger, ZF Array Technology; Reza Ghaffarian, Ph.D., Jet Propulsion Labs; Steve Greathouse, Plexus Corp.; Jeff Kennedy, Celestica; Andrew Mawer, Freescale Semiconductor; and Paul Vianco, Ph.D., Sandia National Labs.
The SMTA International Technical Committee is considering abstracts for the 2009 conference. Short course descriptions are also being solicited. Papers should describe significant results from experiments; emphasize new techniques; and contain technical, economic, or appropriate test data.
