Indium Intros Rosin-free No-clean Cored Wire Solder
October 23, 2008 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
CLINTON, N.Y. Indium Corporation debuted CW-501, a colophony-free (free of rosin), no-clean, cored wire solder for use with lead-free alloys. Indium developed the product by adapting its solder paste alloys, and notes that rosin is an allergen.
CW-501 comes in various alloys and wire diameters. It targets excellent wetting and solder spread with minimal smoking and low odor. CW-501 solders comparably to no-clean or RMA rosin-containing cored wires, and is compatible with Indium Corporation's no-clean products, including wave fluxes and Indium8.9. It is grouped with Indium's halogen-free solder products as environmentally friendly, said Tim Jensen, solder paste product manager.
The paste will be manufactured in Indium's Elk Grove Village, Ill., facility.
