Scan & Design PCB Reverse Engineering Firm Hands Business Over to Photodata
October 10, 2008 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
BRIGHTON and HITCHIN, U.K. Scan & Design of southern England will transition its business assets and customers to Photodata Test Services Ltd. at the end of this month. The company is closing after more than 10 years providing PCB scanning for reverse engineering of bare boards to CAD databases. The scanning is performed on high-resolution optical scanners, and is coupled to complex software that rebuilds the design and exports it into a CAD format for the customer.
Scan & Design will turn this business over to Photodata upon the retirement of one of Scan & Design's principal owners. The partnership is designed to ease transition for customers, according to the companies. Photodata Test Services Ltd. is a specialist provider of services to the bare board PCB industry, and has offered PCB scanning for more than eight years. The company has three scanning systems based at its headquarters in Hitchin, offering a same day service to southern England. Another scanning system is based at its northern branch of JD Photo-Tools (Oldham, U.K.).
