Water-free Defluxing Agent
July 7, 2008 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
MANASSAS, Va. ZESTRON America introduced a solvent-based defluxing agent for water-free and low-temperature cleaning applications. ZESTRON DS 100 is designed to remove flux residues at low temperatures from electronic assemblies, ceramic hybrids, power modules, and leadframes in self-regenerative closed-loop cleaning systems.
The cleaning agent suits applications where rinsing with water is not permitted. Developed in conjunction with a leading equipment manufacturer for closed-loop processes, ZESTRON DS 100 offers an extended bath life, low maintenance costs, and low cost per cleaned part.
The cleaning agent was tested with a range of flux residues and provides residue-free drying. Good drying characteristics also support short cycle times. Leading military and medical electronic manufacturers have qualified ZESTRON DS 100 for its cleaning performance under capillary spaces such as BGAs and flip chips, according to the company.
ZESTRON DS 100 is formulated free of any halogenated compounds and is environmentally friendly. It meets RoHS and WEEE guidelines as well as current worker safety standards and actual applicable environmental requirements.
