HP Selects Flextronics for High-volume Notebooks

SINGAPORE Flextronics' computing segment has been chosen by HP to design and manufacture a high-volume consumer notebook computer for its notebook business unit of the personal systems group.
The Flextronics computing segment which provides design, build, ship, and logistics services to customers in the desktop PC, notebook PC, server, storage, and computer peripherals industries recently increased its notebook ODM capabilities with the acquisition of Arima Corporation's notebook business.
The EMS providers growing design capabilities, manufacturing expertise, global footprint, and vertical solutions for notebook components contributed to the contract win, according to Sean Burke, president, Flextronics computing segment.
