atg/LM Intros Octal-density Grid Tester
June 2, 2008 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
WERTHEIM, Germany atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH, in cooperation with the Capital Equipment Group (CEG) of Everett Charles Technologies, launched the LM800 Picomat universal grid tester for bare boards. LM800 Picomat is an octal density (35 mil) universal grid tester for high-technology PCBs. Its throughput reaches up to 800 boards per hour.
Designed for the electrical test of bare boards that previously may have required dedicated fixturing, the LM800 Picomat features simple fixtures, an ARES measuring system, and full automation. High-volume, high-density PCBs are testable with reportedly lower fixture costs compared to a dedicated tester, and fixtures can be made in-house.
LM800 Picomat boasts a proprietary switch card technology for testing, as well as lowered pin deflection compared to competitive products, according to the companies.
