IPTE Debuts In-line Test Handler
May 30, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
GENK, Belgium IPTE added to its multifunctional test handler line, introducing the Multi Test Handler for parallel operation for test or flash programming. The system offers reportedly flexible automation settings to integrate with existing test equipment at line rates.
The model allows for connection of four or eight test fixtures in parallel. This targets production lines with fast line rates, since very often the test or flash programming procedures take more time than the tact sequence would allow for, according to IPTE representatives. Test fixtures used in such a configuration can be supplied for different board types to save changeover times.
Whether used in single or dual-line track configurations, with one or two board lifts and single or multiple transport modules, these test handlers can be applied with all possible line configurations. Moreover, any combination of tracks, board lifts, and conveyor modules in a manufacture environment will not place constraints on the test handler usage. With the second transport track of the test handler systems, bypass solutions too can be realized on the shop floor.
All IPTE test handler systems integrate with existing test equipment, and automate the verification and programming procedures on the shop floor. IPTE reports that the biggest advantage of the test handler family is its modular and multifunctional concept, and the continued use of existing test fixtures on the test floor.
The IPTE test handler series are available for various board test equipment from Aeroflex, Agilent and Teradyne (including GenRad). A universally functional 19" mounting-space test handler version can be supplied.
