IPC Names APEX's ITC Winners

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries chose products to highlight in the Innovative Technology Center (ITC) at the 2008 IPC Printed Circuits Expo/APEX/Designers Summit, April 13 in Las Vegas, showcasing new and emerging technologies from all segments of the electronic interconnect industry.
A formal IPC Review Board, comprising industry experts, is charged with reviewing all company submissions and selecting the winning products or services based on emerging technology or innovation. "I was impressed with the innovation inherent in the submissions this year," said Don Dupriest, Review Board member and SME - PWB/CCA Tech. Dev. of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. "Some showed extensive material development research to allow deployment into the technology and marketplace."
With 12 winners, IPC categorized the winning products by PCB fabrication, assembly, and test.
PCB fabrication companies American Plating Power LLC and Printar Ltd. will represent emerging technology in the ITC. American Plating brings its reverse pulse plating Rectifier AxD G3, and Printar will showcase the GreenJet.
In the area of assembly, APEX will showcase BEST Inc.'s EZReball, DEK International's Reel-to-Reel, EKRA America Inc.'s iPAG integrated paste and glue dispenser, Electronic Control Design Inc.'s (ECD's) MEGAM.O.L.E. 20 thermal profiler, Henkel Corporation's PowerstrateXtreme Dispensable (PSX-D) thermal interface material (TIM), Hesse & Knipps' PiQC process-integrated quality control for thin and heavy wire bonders, and MYDATA automation Inc.'s MY500.
Test equipment providers also made a strong showing. Agilent Technologies was selected for its powered vectorless limited access solution for in-circuit test (ICT); phoenix ¦ x-ray Systems + Services Inc. will feature its microme¦x with x¦act software; and SEICA will highlight its Pilot V8 at the ITC.
The ITC provides attendees and exhibitors with the opportunity to view white papers, charts, and graphics from the winning exhibitors' new products to enhance their own company's operations. For more information, visit www.ipc.org.
