February 25, 2008 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
WEST SUSSEX, U.K. PDR released its professional hand-held rework system, the PDR IR-SolderLight Professional, targeting flexibility for SMT/BGA rework. The system is tip/nozzle free, gas free, sensitive to controls, clean, and is said to produce high-quality BGA rework without complications.
Standard features include Focused IR technology; operation without nozzles, focus hoods, or shields; a quartz IR PCB preheater with 650-W power; and reportedly simple setup and operation. It is able to rework all types of SMDs without overheating the component, adjacents, or PCB.
The PDR IR-SolderLight Professional also boasts low cost of ownership, good process control, and 100% process yields, according to the company. It is intuitive to allow technicians to control BGA/SMT rework.
