Optimal Focuses on Mexico
February 13, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
AUSTIN, Texas Optimal Electronics Corporation partnered with Test_ing, Tecnologia, Control y Automatizacion Industrial of Chihuhua City, Mexico, for sales and support in Mexico. Test_ing represents and supports Optimal Electronics' Optel MES software suite.
Optimal Electronics offers solutions for shop-floor productivity, optimization, part verification, and component-level traceability. Test_ing brings application expertise, particularly in automated test equipment and processes, into the company, with an experienced team of hardware and software engineers, note Doug Norton, VP sales and marketing. Under the agreement, Optimal Electronics will work with the company to extend its MES software suite to communicate with automated test-and-inspection equipment.
Test_ing asserts that Mexico-based manufacturing targets lean operations, requiring real-time execution software infrastructure between ERP/MRP systems and the various shop-floor equipment to integrate and control the areas of automation. The Optel MES suites provides a total factory solution to contract manufacturers (CMs) and OEMs requiring material handling, traceability, and automated electronic assembly optimization, said Carlos Arias, president, Test_ing.
Optel Dynamic Production Scheduling and multi-vendor machine programming software also offers factory-wide real-time material management. By integrating and communicating directly with the stockroom and component-placement machines, Optel provides visibility to work in progress (WIP) and inventory. Its component-level traceability benefits electronics manufacturers in military, aerospace, automotive, communications, and medical sectors, or those tracing RoHS compliance.
