Grieve Releases 650°F Soldering Oven

ROUND LAKE, Ill. The Grieve Corporation released No. 851, a 650°F electrically heated belt conveyor oven for soldering. The oven includes two 4-ft. insulated heat zones with independent recirculated airflow and temperature controls, a 12-ft. cooling zone with tube-axial fans moving air through it, and a variable speed conveyor that operates between 1.3 and 15.3 inch/min.
The oven occupies an 18" × 96" footprint, including 2-ft. open-belt loading, two 4-ft. heating zones, a 1-ft. open zone, the 12-ft. cooling zone, and 2-ft. unloading area. Nichrome wire heating elements provide 60-kW power to reach soldering temperatures, while two 1,000 CFM 2-horsepower blowers direct vertical airflow onto assemblies.
The No. 851 features 5" insulated walls, with aluminized steel exterior and Type 304 stainless steel on the interior. Its cooling zone uses two 16"-diameter tubeaxial fans with 0.75-horsepower motors. The conveyor is a foot wide, 1" × " carbon steel flat wire, using a 0.25-horsepower motor for 1.3 to 25.3 inch/min. travel.
Safety and control equipment include digital temperature indicator, manual reset with separate contactors to prevent excess temperatures, and safety and disconnect switches.
