SMTA Chapter Officers Gather for Training

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) will hold its annual Chapter Officer Forum on February 22 - 24 at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. The gathering begins with a facility tour hosted by the Upper Midwest SMTA Chapter and follows up with a tour of the SMTA Headquarters where local chapter officers can learn who does what during a friendly open house setting.
On February 23rd at the conference hotel, officers will attend a program designed for those interested in developing leadership skills. Facilitator James S. DeLizia, CAE, DeLizia Consulting Services will present, "How to Build and Sustain a Thriving Chapter." Afterwards, breakout sessions are designed to teach officers more about how to serve their chapter better in the following areas: membership, president, secretary, webmaster, peer review, vendor days, chapter tutorials, vice president, treasurer, student chapter, and meeting preparation.
"We always have fun and learn about the present year initiatives," says Mike Jansen, Boston Chapter president.
