ProtoDesign Chooses DEK Horizon 03i

UTICA, Mich. and FLEMINGTON, N.J. ProtoDesign, Inc., a design and electronics services firm targeting medical, industrial, security and public service sectors, partnered with DEK to use the Horizon 03i platform. ProtoDesign will implement the printing system on its automated production line, and expects to double throughput over the coming year.
The Horizon 03i will replace a manual screen printing operation, completely the transition to automated assembly, notes John C. Zimmer, manufacturing manager, ProtoDesign. DEK's platfom automates preplacement with high repeatability, applications support, and robust operation, he added. The Horizon 03i is built on an optimized printer frame for mechanical and thermal stability. It comes with DEK's Instictiv user interface and the ISCAN control network. The system adapts to host a variety of performance upgrades and offers manufacturing flexibility for high throughput and rapid changeover environments, according to DEK.
