Mentor Begins 20th PCB Technology Awards
January 11, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
WILSONVILLE, Ore. Mentor Graphics Corporation opened its 20th annual Technology Leadership Awards competition, calling for entries in six categories for complex PCB designs. The awards recognize engineers and designers that use Mentor products to address design challenges and produce leading products.
Entrants can submit designs for PC computers and peripherals; consumer and handheld electronics; industrial control, instrumentation, security, and medical electronics; military and aerospace electronics; telecom switches, network servers, base stations, and computer mainframes; and transportation and automotive electronics. Enter at www.mentor.com/go/tla through March 14, 2008.
The awards are designed to showcase Mentor's customer's design approaches and recognize designers' contributions. Judges for the contest include Happy Holden, Mentor Graphics; Gary Ferrari, FTG Circuits; Pete Waddell, UP Media; and Rick Hartley, L-3 Communication. Winners will be named for each category, as well as "Best Overall Design," and announced at the PCB Design Conference East in May 2008.
The Technology Leadership award contest is open to any designs created with Mentor's PCB solutions, including the Board Station, Expedition Enterprise, and PADS design flows. Judging will be based on overcoming complexity challenges, such as small form factor, high-speed content, design team collaboration, advanced PCB fabrication technologies, and design-cycle time reduction.
