Toray to Sell Flex Exposure System in West
November 27, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
TOKYO Toray Engineering Co., Ltd., will open sales opportunities of its double-sided, close-proximity exposure system, TE2538W, to flex substrate manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe.
Toray will increase production to accommodate expanding the product's sales outside of Japan and Asia. The TE2538W uses a roll-to-roll format that produces a 7.2-sec. cycle time for double-sided exposure. It is reportedly as compact as a single-sided flex-substrate exposure system.Accuracies built into the film transfer and automatic imaging-alignment systems produce repeatable 10-µm lines and spaces at full production speeds, according to the company. Vertical transport and close-proximity exposure target reduced defects and resilience against dust and foreign materials. A single UV lamp-source switching mechanism and parabolic mirror are included to reduce operating costs.Working area equals 260 × 380 mm with a high-pressure mercury lamp with air cooling. A hard contact mode has a 15-sec. cycle time and maintains close-proximity accuracies.
