Burn-in QFN Socket for Fine Pitch
November 1, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
VANCOUVER, Wash. Antares Advanced Test Technologies released the 880 series of clamshell burn-in sockets that accommodate standard QFN packages down to 0.35-mm pitch. The finer-pitch socket comprises a beryllium/copper alloy contact with gold contact plating, compression mount, and a cantilever contact.
Antares will distribute the socket globally though a partnership with Gryphics, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cascade Microtech, Inc. The product's compression mount is designed for easier maintenance when removing or replacing the socket. A wiping action contact creates reportedly consistent resistance during burn-in test. High-performance contacts in replaceable contact sets also are available.
It boasts 20-g contact force and 30,000-cycle test life. The sockets operate from -40° to +155°C. For more information, visit www.antares-att.com.
