GE Completes phoenix X-ray Buy
October 29, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
BILLERICA, Mass. GE Inspection Technologies received the required regulatory approvals to merger phoenix X-ray into its non-destructive test business, for undisclosed fiscal terms. The acquisition will broaden GE's 3D, computerized tomography (CT), and micro- and nanotechnology inspection capabilities across industries, said Caroline Reda, president and CEO, GE Inspection Technologies.
GE will add phoenix's nondestructive testing technologies to its products for aerospace, power generation, oil and gas, and automotive customers, as well as related areas. The company also expects phoenix's microelectronics and industrial customers to benefit from the acquisition through increased product range and service offering, and a global footprint, Reda explained.
