IPC Names VP, Standards and Technology

BANNOCKBURN, Ill. IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries appointed David Torp as vice president of standards and technology. David Bergman, former VP of standards, technology, and international relations, will focus solely on IPC's global initiatives as IPC's VP, international relations.
Torp is responsible for IPC's certification, professional development, and multimedia programs and will provide strategic direction, leadership, planning and oversight for all standards development and technical activities. He has worked for IPC member companies and developed relationships within the sector, said Denny McGuirk, president, IPC.
With more than 20 years of experience in business development, marketing and engineering operations, Torp served in various posts at Kester/ITW and Rockwell-Collins. He holds a bachelor's of science in chemical engineering from Iowa State University and executive education certificates from Harvard Business School (Mass.), University of Michigan, and University of Pennsylvania.
