TRUMPF Acquires AFM Canada
October 3, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
FARMINGTON, Conn. TRUMPF Inc. purchased 100% of Advanced Fabricating Machinery (AFM), a Canada-based fabricating and laser technology supplier. AFM was formed in 1997 as an equal joint venture (JV) between TRUMPF and Robert Watson.
Robert Watson will remain with AFM in a leadership role. The company will become a sales and spare-parts distributor for TRUMPF in Canada. The venture with AFM turned into a successful relationship, and led to our 100% acquisition, said Rolf Biekert, president and CEO, TRUMPF. Biekert plans to expand TRUMPF's penetration in the Canada market through the purchase.
