Genesis Adds Medical-electronics Customer
September 21, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
TAMPA, Fla. Genesis Electronics Manufacturing, Inc. (GEM), won a contract with a medical device manufacturer, adding to its medical business segment. The EMS provider anticipates medical electronics to account for 30% of revenue by the end of 2007.
Since attaining ISO: 13485 certification in 2003, Genesis claims medical-device manufacturing has become its fastest-growing segment. Medical device manufacturers bring about 28% of GEM's business, said Scott Mauldin, president, adding that he expects this to increase to 30% by 2008.
Genesis also assembles electronics for communications equipment, aerospace and security products, and industrial controls.
ISO: 13485 certification allows for the design and manufacture of medical devices in line with all pertinent regulations and best practices.
