East Meets West at NEPCON/EMT South China 2007
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
By Simon Lian, Editor-in-Chief, SMT China
Held August 28–31, 2007, in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the largest and most comprehensive international SMT and electronics manufacturing show in China saw more than 19,776 high-quality professional visitors. Forty-two local companies organized delegations, with 2,213 visitors throughout the four days. The show served as an arena for local industry players to learn more about the latest products and technologies on the electronics manufacturing market and glean valuable knowledge from international heavyweights.
South China, holding a whopping 37% of China's electronics manufacturing industry, makes it the perfect venue for this show. NEPCON/EMT's exhibitors came from 22 different countries and regions, including Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S. Co-located with NEPCON are EMT, Automotive Electronics China 2007, and Assembly Technology Expo China 2007.
The event brought together 450 prestigious companies around the world, including Aleader Vision Technology, Assembléon, Asymtek, Cookson, Dage, DEK, First Technology, Hexi Electronic Equipment, Fuji, ICON, Indium Corporation, KIC, OK International, Orbotech, Rohwedder, Siemens, SMT Ltd., Sun East, Universal Instruments, Viscom, and WKK.
The venue covered 26,000 square meters that were packed with the cutting-edge technology on the market today. Assembléon brought its AX-Series pick-and-place platform. DEK demonstrated its board supporting system HD Grid-Lok, while ICON introduced its fully automatic screen printer Icon i8. Europlacer spotlighted its Tornado head with 12 vacuum nozzles. Fuji showcased its XPF high-speed, multi-function pick-and-place machine. Kester brought its EnviroMark 918AP lead-free, halide-free, air-and nitrogen-reflowable, no-clean solder paste. KIC spotlighted its new generation of profiler Explorer. Viscom introduced its unique X7056 inspection system, which performs simultaneous optical and 3D X-ray inspection.
Exhibitors were quick to praise the effectiveness of both the show and the show's management. Erik van de Ven, director of Asia business support and marketing at Assembléon said, "NEPCON/EMT South China is a very good event, and exhibiting at NEPCON is a very good experience. It is an important event in our calendar as it is really a good opportunity to raise our brand awareness. We are extremely pleased with the marketing activities for the show's promotion."
Visitors were delighted by what was offered at the show. International exhibitors gave an insight into cutting-edge technologies from all round the world, while domestic exhibitors showcased solutions that suited to the thriving South China market. The event covered every area of the world of electronics manufacturing, offering informative displays featuring SMT, EMS, test-and-measurement equipment, components, PCB, and electrostatic discharge (ESD), along with latest high-tech innovations. Visitors found tailored solutions to meet their needs, and had ample and unique opportunities for high-level networking and learning. SMT
