BALVE, Germany and BREDA, Holland The Cobar Group BV became part of Balver Zinn with the final full transfer of ownership, following a signed Letter of Intent to merge in March 2007. Balvar Zinn Group focuses on the metallurgy of solder materials and non-ferrous metals. Cobar will lead the future development of solder paste, flux, and other related materials.
Through this consolidated effort, the companies intend to extend their electronic markets worldwide. Each will maintain its own manufacturing infrastructure, marketing network, and brand names. Balver Zinn is known for manufacturing anodes and various alloys, as well as soft solders and specialty wires. The company experienced growth with the introduction of its lead-free solders, and licenses SN100C from Nihon Superior (Japan) and SAC alloys from IOWA and Senju (U.S. and Japan, respectively). Cobar is a supplier of VOC-free soldering materials.
