Robinson Oversees Tyco Operations

BERWYN, Pa. Tyco Electronics Ltd. named Michael Robinson senior vice president of operations to lead its strategic purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, and quality assurance (QA) functions.
Robinson, reporting directly to CEO Tom Lynch, will focus on Tyco Electronics' operating margins, aligning production and purchasing with a targeted 15% margin over the next three years. He will also attend to improving six sigma and lean manufacturing, as well as portfolio and manufacturing simplification.
Robinson joins Tyco from 27 years at United Technologies Corporation (UTC), where he most recently served as vice president of operations, residential and light commercial international business, Carrier Corporation. He holds a bachelors from Syracuse University (N.Y.) and a masters from Boston University.
