August 10, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. and SPARTANBURG, S.C. InteliCoat Technologies sold its electronic and engineered films (EEF) business unit to Exopack Holding, Inc., for an undisclosed amount. The division gives Exopack a European facility and new markets.
Exopack will rename the business unit Exopack Advanced Coatings and will maintain Matthews, N.C., and North Wales, U.K., operations. The division will develop and manufacture coated and laminated substrates for printed wiring board (PWB), flexible circuit, optical film, high-temperature conductive and shielding tape, and other applications. These will be new markets for Exopack to penetrate, said Jack Knott, president and CEO. Alan Parker will oversee the division as vice president and general manager. He formerly served as managing director of European Operations for InteliCoat, and is based at the U.K. facility.
InteliCoat and Exopack are affiliates of Sun Capital Partners, a private investment firm. InteliCoat will focus on core competencies after selling the business unit, said Joe Lupone, president and CEO, InteliCoat.
