Unovis Names Automation Partner

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. Unovis Solutions signed a strategic partnership with baumann Automation (Amberg, Germany) to expand its assembly solutions and global support to semiconductor, automotive, and telecommunications assembly customers.
Unovis will bring component and die feeders, transport systems, process peripherals, and flexible assembly cells to the partnership, targeting semiconductor, substrate, and light mechanical assembly and test. It also proffers laboratory services in product and process design, development, optimization, and testing projects. Unovis provides a U.S. base for the partnership, and both companies are "aggressively expanding" infrastructure in Asia to provide automated assembly solutions for manufacturers there. With a Germany base, baumann Automation will provide application-specific automation solutions based on standard platforms. The products target final assembly, packing, and handling.
