Comtech Upgrades AOI with F1 Series
June 25, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. YESTech, Inc., reported a multiple-system shipment of F1 series AOI machines to Comtech EF Data (Tempe, Ariz.). The manufacturer, which markets satellite communications products for commercial and government applications, upgraded its automated optical inspection (AOI) to ensure better quality and more comprehensive inspection, as well as yield improvement.
The F1 AOI systems will replace several legacy systems at Comtech's facility, increasing automation and ease-of-use, said Theo King, AOI manager, Comtech. He expects the investment to allow engineers in the AOI department to process assemblies more effectively and reduce demands on operator skill. Satellite and communications products are designed and manufactured through final assembly at the Ariz. campus. Comtech's manufacturing floorComtech decided to purchase YESTech systems based on the equipment manufacturer's customer support, performance, return on investment (ROI), and customer demands for heightened inspection capabilities for high-reliability assemblies.
