Distron Corp. Selects NPI Software
June 15, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
ATTLEBORO FALLS, Mass., and PHILADELPHIA Distron Corp., as part of a capital expansion to boost productivity and customer communications, has selected Aegis Industrial Software's CircuitCAM for Workgroups software.
CircuitCAM for Workgroups, a new product introduction (NPI) kit, encompasses CircuitCAM and Checkpoint connected to a central iServer. This enables future integration with the Aegis Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Distron has reportedly invested over $1 million in new plant equipment and personnel to expand its surface mount capacities. The contract manufacturer (CM) handles small to medium circuit board and electro-mechanical assemblies for military and commercial markets.
Aegis's NPI software creates color-coded manufacturing documents for process control. The software alerts users to bill-of-material (BOM) errors automatically, and is said to speed offline machine programming processes by linking in real-time with machine vendor component libraries.
