May 18, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
DENVER Qualmark Corporation will deliver a Typhoon Chamber to an independent R&D service provider in Bangalore, India, for testing computer-related components. The HALT/HASS system will also be displayed at the company's open R&D test lab to showcase Qualmark equipment in India.
Charles Johnston, CEO and president; and Jeffrey Hale, vice president of sales, Qualmark, traveled to India to develop an infrastructure for equipment use and service and support in the burgeoning EMS and OEM market in the country. Electronics manufacturing in India is expected to reach $22.3 billion in 2010, said research firm iSuppli. Johnston explained that Qualmark has hired in its new business development department and deployed a support program to increase India's capital investment in test equipment, particularly highly accelerated life testing (HALT) and highly accelerated stress screening (HASS).
The Typhoon order represents Qualmark's first purchase order to India. The company has installed testing systems in 35 countries and partners with ten testing facilities globally.
