Photo Stencil Nabs Lab Award
May 17, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. and BINGHAMTON, N.Y. The Universal SMT lab, now the Advanced Process Laboratory of Unovis Solutions, awarded Photo Stencil with "Best Printing Stencil 2006" after a study conducted in the lab comparing printing processes lead-free and tin/lead performed by a total of 12 stencils from four manufacturers.
Study #00042805 found Photo Stencil's AMTX E-FAB electroformed stencil to perform best in the printing process, and named the company's NicAlloy stencil second. The stencil showed improvements to the SMT process and reduced defects, and reportedly produced the best paste transfer with various solder alloys. The SMT lab tested five electroformed stencils and seven laser stencils. A full report from the lab tests, along with appendices on stencil properties and rework cost analysis, are available upon request.
