IRVINE, Calif. Henkel Corporation will expand its existing plant in Pune, India, to incorporate a solder-paste blending facility. Tin/lead and lead-free solders produced at the facility, under the Multicore brand, will be distributed to the local electronics market.
Henkel first expanded in India in August 2006, and expects to complete the Pune expansion in October 2007. For more information on Henkel's infrastructure in India, read Henkel Expands in India.
The Pune facility measures 38,000 square feet, and is ISO9001 and 14001 qualified. Henkel will hire additional personnel to support the tin/lead and lead-free solder blending operations. All product from the plant's expanded capacity should remain in the India region, according to representatives.
